Located
about 30 miles straight east of Thompson on the Grass River
system is our closest camp. This river is famous for it’s
number of Walleye as well as plenty of opportunity to hook
onto trophy size Northern. Most fishermen can spend their
entire week just trolling the rapids that are just around
the bend from camp. For those who want to see the country
the Grass River meanders toward Witchai Lake that lies about
5 miles north. Witchai Lake is about 6 miles wide and 7
miles long. To say this is Walleye Heaven is an
understatement! Teal Lake camp is the perfect place for the
group on a tighter budget, when it comes to a fly-in
outpost.
The cabin located on a peninsula is within walking distance
to a set of rapids that boast of Walleye numbers in the
hundreds. Having survived a forest fire that virtually
destroyed all the mature trees for miles, it is a comfort to
know the peninsula survived to give shade and protection
from the north wind to tired fishermen after a hard day on
the water. Similar to Goose Hunting Lake cabin there is room
for 6 with a screen veranda for sitting at night. All your
kitchen requirements are present, along with propane lights,
fridge, stove, gas grill and satellite phone.
Boats are a mixture of 14 and 16 foot Lund or brand name
aluminums. Newer four-stroke Johnson were added in 2001 as
well as a new dock and stairway up from the lake. The same
Black bag shower and running water system that Goose Hunting
Lake boast is present at Teal Lake cabin!
